My PS3 remote works through walls (I can control the PS3 in the living room from my bedroom).

if I got a 2nd PS3 for the bedroom, wouldn't either remote or controller control both ps3's??

What's a solution for this?

If I want a bluray player for the bedroom, I'd really like it to be a slim ps3!!!

All thoughts short of wrapping my PS3 in tin foil would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure you can only sync the same PS3 controller to 1 PS3 at a time.

Although it would be a good test to sync it with 1 PS3... turn off that PS3 ... turn on your PS3 slim and sync it with that PS3... then turn it off... then press the PS button on that controller and see if BOTH PS3s start up ??... who knows? ..

I think it can only be associated with one console at a time so it wouldn't control both of them at the same time. I think if you wanted to do this setup, you would either need 2 sony ps3 remotes or need to use a regular dual shock for one or use the harmony adapter and a harmony remote on one of them. I can vouch for the harmony remotes - they are one of the best gadgets I own and have made a huge difference in my tech life....

I just checked: under Settings | Accessory Settings you can "register" a controller with a PS3.

I must have done that when I got my system last year (forgot about the whole registration process).

So, that makes sense: you could have 2 PS3's in ear-shot without causing remote chaos!

i have 2 ps3s. i have the lauch 60 gig and a 120 gig slim. it can be a tad annoying cause it happens to me when i forget to sync the controller to the system i want to use... but you just have to use the mini usb wire when you cut the desired ps3 on other wise it will cut the last one it's registered to on and you'll get no use from the one you're trying to use.

but if your talking about remotes... i have the ps3 remote and you register it to one system... if you want to change it you have to go to settings to do so, so this isn't really an issue for me.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

Since the price of a cheap bluray has fallen, I don't think I'll spend $300 for a PS3 for the bedroom, especially since I really don't game, and just use the one in the living room as a bluray player.
