I've had this phone for about a year and recently it started draining the battery quickly. The first time I swapped out the battery because I had and extra and it seemed to fix the problem, but now-about 2 months later- it's draining the battery again. Anyone else have this problem?

I was the proud owner of a 8300. With moderate use the battery would last 4-5 days! I then switched over to Verizon and "upgraded" to the 8330. Since day one, my phone will last 2.5 days maximum. I have replaced the battery, turned off all non-esential apps/services and it still sucks. Very disappointed, miss the 8300!

After a day of business calls, facebook updates, a few web searches, texts etc, I have to recharge mine each night. I figure it is just the cost of doing business.

I had it on my Peal, after about a year the battery wouldn't last me a whole day, gladly i was able to get a new phone and it shortly died there after but i think its just the batteries and like all rechargeable they just start losing charge.

I thought that too but the newer battery won't last me a day anymore.

The only other thing i could think about would be a battery leak issue with the phone itself i.e. something in the phone is leaking battery even while not using it. Or have you started using new or more apps?

I think it's just the phone. I haven't gotten any new apps, or increased my usage dramatically.

Sadly i think thats what it is to, if a new battery isn't working then like i said there much be some sort of internal leak thats draining the battery. Maybe RIM will fix it for you.

Batteries are old. First 2 months = Great. after that? Drains fast. Memory leaks. Dated OS. Love my Curve but dated, and some painful issues such as this.

Of course after posting I haven't had the problem. Bluetooth hasn't been on in months so that wasn't draining the battery. The phone has some other quirks so I'll assume that the irregular battery drain is another one.

There you go, ultimately its just one of those things.

Yeah, unfortunately. I'm eligible for upgrade in a couple months, so I might try out the iPhone or maybe the Touch Pro2, if it's ever out.

No, quite the opposite. The battery is very good, that's a comment i hear very often from iPhone folk.
