I never had more problems with a phone in my life, I finally returned it to AT&T enough times and they gave me a Bold which isn't that much better.
It seems like this was the norm for this phone amongst my friends as well.. what do you guys think?

No. Quite the opposite.
I have had my 8330/Sprint for almost two years. I am ready for an upgrade but I have to admit, before this phone the only things I had used were dumb phones. Huge improvement in speed, functionality and productivity for me. Granted there basically is no blackberry app store. But all the apps I find useful are either already included or readily available OTA.
I haven't replaced any parts on mine or had any issues that I couldn't work out on my own but, batteries, keyboard, trackball, cases and even displays are replaceable by the savvy user. And if my curve wants to take a swim in the drink, I can get a refurbished one for $49.
More than pleased with mine.

What do you call that?
I love my 8330. I've twice had the ball stick which fixed itself after a few hours. Other than that it has been great. Coming from Windows Mobile Phones...the Curve 8330 was like mana from heaven.
