Anyone who has this device, can they comment on how this device interacts with a Mac? Is it pretty straightforward to add to the itunes or iphoto library? Or does it require special software?

Agreed with drgossy/Chimpolte/jon, it works great - The clips open up in iPhoto and with just a little bit of work in iMovie you have yourself a decent quality presentation.

The only thing I would recommend would be a USB extension cable. The 'Flip' aspect of the camera flips up the USB port and I can't help but feel like I'm about to break it clean off. Having the extension lets you set the camera down rather than having it hang precariously out the back/side of your mac.

this device works beautifully with the mac. iphoto starts as soon as the device is plugged in. iphoto will import the video into it's own event. you can also use the Flip Mino software if you wish but it's really not necessary.

drgrossy is right. I pretty much got my Flip and Mac at the same time and had no issue figuring out how to get the two to work. Aside from the auto launch of iPhoto when you connect, it's also pretty easy to play with your videos in iMovie, as well as the Flip software.
