I'm attempting to root the Droid with these instructions:
http://www.sholes.info/howto-install-and-update-sprecove
ry/

I followed the procedure with update.zip and it appears it worked. When I fire up a terminal program on the device and do an su I get a prompt that says the terminal wants root, then I click yes to accept and get a # prompt in the terminal. I image that would mean I properly rooted the thing.

My problem comes when I try to do an su from adb. I type "adb shell su" and promptly get "Permission denied." It would seem that I somehow used the wrong update.zip file to root the device, but then why would i be able to su from the device terminal? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Small words please, I'm a *nix noob.

Duh - there's a super user app that needs to be run to allow this to happen.
