So far, mine has broken three times.

For every one of these times I rang up, had it collected within 3 days and back in my hands within a couple of weeks.

Hopefully it won't break on me again

I actually own two. My first one, an original pro 20gb died a little over a year ago with RROD. I got it back about 3 weeks later.

Then I purchased an elite so that my girlfriend and I could both play and both it and my original died within a week of each other this past December. My elite's DVD drive broke and my Pro got the dreaded RROD yet again.

Unfortunately, while I've gotten my elite back, I have not gotten around to sending my Pro in because the online tool is not working with its serial number and I haven't called up customer service yet as I am dreading the "did you turn it off and back on" conversation.

My first XBox 360 (circa April 2006) started dying in December. I didn't have the heart to see it completely go...So I replaced it before it ever completely died with an Arcade model. I miss my chrome companion...

First, let me state, I love my XBOX 360 and I really don't want to know what life would be like with out it.

I have had 3 RROD.

Product support has been amazing. Calls answered right away. Simple troubleshooting questions. Box shipped within 1 to 2 days, unit returned with 8 to 10.

Luckily, I have had two XBOXs since about 1 year into it's lifecycle, so the RROD wasn't as dramatic as it could have been.

Same here, guess I'm just lucky.

A little canned air cleared my optical drive issue (it gets dusty in there).

Actually it's not luck. I've never met anyone who's 360 has broken down. The reports are exaggerated by Microsoft haters.

Had mine since March after launch. No problems whatsoever, and it's been dropped from a few feet more than once. The drive has trouble opening on occasion, but for the most part, it works. Good thing too, because I can't afford a new one. I would love an Elite, though. The problem with having a launch or near-launch machine is that you get no HDMI support, and converters do no good, as the data gets compressed before it hits the HDMI. HDMI is, for the most part, raw.

My 2 1/2 year old Pro gets the RROD on hot days (over 30c), which thankfully don't happen too often. Give it a few hours to cool, make sure it's dust free and (so far) it has booted back up just fine. Until the next time.
It's a tad annoying knowing that it does this though as it will probably deteriorate over time and the extended warranty period is just about up. But hard to send it in for repairs when I can't guarrantee what temp it will be when they test it.

I have a launch 360 and it was PERFECT until I moved. It must not have liked being joss-led around and finally broke. I shipped it off two days before Microsoft stopped paying for shipping and it's all better now.

I have been fortunate not to have experienced the RROD. I bought my XBOX 360 with an HDMI port, so I know this one is more reliable, though, still not perfect.

Got a 360 pro in mid 2007 and haven't had any issues yet. Ive had this thing running in LAN parties as well as just normal home use. Couldn't be happier.
