I have officially pre-ordered Win7 (student offer for $30) and I'm really hoping for the best... I will be upgrading my gf's laptop and have already upgraded it to 4 GB's of RAM in anticipation... I'm really hoping I love Microsoft more after this.... :)

Yeah i may just wait and buy another PC in awhile want something more or just maybe i wil upgrade mine but i am still happy with Vista and Netbook remix so maybe i will just keep those.

Yeah, let the flood subside.

The flood being, a top tier i7 laptop or 3 for each company, dual core netbooks/tops, tablets everywhere, the same with touchscreen all in ones. and mega Vista upgrades everywhere.

Let the wheat be separated from the chaff.

As for myself, one i7 filled laptop on its way, (G51J!) and some from the above categories in the future.

oh, and I found out there is no real ship date for this $30 student offer since it is a digital download. So I guess I will just be given the ability to download it on Thursday!

I could have paid more to have a physical disc, but why bother. I have a ton of backup drives anyway.....

I love 'em. Even with their problems, they *always* will fix them eventually, whether it be hardware or software. And I love how they observe and test the waters before releasing most of their hardware, ensuring it has the majority of features users want (example, with the Zune, how much they progressed in terms of fixing and adding features within the initial release).

The only big thing that irritates me is 50 a year for XBL. I like the service and all, but that price was only justifiable back when that was all there was for console gamers (yeah I know DC had online-play, but I mean the kind of unified service XBL is). There's not enough incentives to pay that much. 50 would be fair if it were a year of actual service (I mean of actual usage time, not 1 year from purchase).

Microsoft has a great market percentage.Lots of mc.s software became an universal program for everyone.But for example, basic errors can not fixed by the time.

windows xp is a great os. windows live softwares and web-softwares are horrible. but we see that all of that the legend of their areas.

I used to be a big microsoft fan....then I decided one day that I wanted a black theme on xp....and in order to do that, I had to hack the crap out of the OS....so I tried linux.....and microsoft lost a customer.

I will say though, and for some reason this surprises people, I do prefer microsoft to apple, at least microsoft is a little bit open.

Microsoft is a great company, with a huge history... and plenty of things to love or hate. Ultimately it is a company that works hard with the industry to make cool things happen... and mostly, they succeed.

Don't listen to the zealots. This isn't war or football. You can love other companies; Microsoft won't mind.
