Looks thicker than even the Cliq, which Ryan Block was saying on this week's gdgt podcast was clunky. Can't to see the dimensions on this phone. I love the qwerty slider idea, but not if the phone's going to be a brick in my pocket.

I see a lot to dislike and like. There's a lot of wasted space around the screen in some bluish hue which irks me off compared to black handsets. But the milky blue of the keyboard is something I've fallen in love with, it looks very usable and buttons at least on the picture appears to offer tactice response in spades.

In fact, I think the smaller 3" screen was chosen after the form factor of the whole phone was decided, because that would explain the ugly wasted space around the screen.

Yeah it definitely looks clunky. That is the biggest problem with sliders right now and it's why I went with the myTouch 3G. I don't think the blueish hue is here to stay because Engadget just posted an article about the announcement where there is no color and it does look a lot better that way.

The frontal bluish hue is what I wish was removed. The change of the keyboard to a grey/blue hue is even better IMHO.

I think they did waste some space buy not adding the more standard 3.2" screen but it does kind of look appealing. I guess since i have the G1 size really doesn't matter and maybe i am still in the boat that i don't want a paper thin phone because i will break it. Kind of why i like the Cliq since it is the heaviest phone so far and only slightly bigger then the G1 so you could probably injure some buy throwing it at them and the phone would still work.

phone as a defense mechanism...nice. who needs 911 when you can inflict amazing damages with the slider? haha. yeah I mean the thing isn't huge but I'm a thin phone guy as you know. Just because it is thin, doesn't mean it's weak. My iPod Touch has taken a beating and still works like a charm. but I agree about weight, things need to not feel like a toy when you're holding it. Thats why I like the G1, the myTouch, and the iPhone. They all feel really solid.

I do think thinner is good, but i see the phones going into thinner and thicker versions. I would imagine the X3 is going to be massive while things like the tattoo will be minuscule. I think the sholes might be the ultimate invisionment of android being both thin as well as have a keyboard.

Just got this today. My first smartphone, as my last one was a razr. Looks great, and the wifi is cool in the house, especially for following sports scores when my kids are watching teh tv.
