It absolutely is. There are a couple of great sites like ppcgeeks.com and xda-developers.com. They have multiple threads on upgrading your phone to WinMo 6.5 but, as all the threads say, be careful about it. Some of the stuff you are doing can mess up your phone. Just make sure you know all the steps you need to take before starting. Happy flashing!

I love the new firmware I put on my Touch Pro, works great. More responsive, faster, crashes less often than the stock firmware that came with mine (Telus branded).

I'm rocking my HTC Fuze coming from an iPhone and have never looked back! Functionality/Hackability>>>>>>UI, and perceived "Cool" factor.

The recent official HTC update isn't too bad. It's fairly fast and the new radio has helped a lot for GPS connectivity. I went to a recent build of the ENERGY ROM, but found myself going back to the official update.

Ugh, it's more than a perceived cool factor, okay? Also, the iPhone is as functional as one wants it to be and is extremely hackable (Cydia, hello?).

Clearly there is something wrong when you have to flash your device with an unreleased software to make it useable.

Yeah you are right... what is the difference between that and jailbreaking an iPhone?? Nice point! lol

Don't you have to hack the original and the 3g JUST to get voice command? Lame. My Moto v551 had voice command.. haha.

Anyways... My Fuze + NRG EnergyROM 3.0 rocks!! Never looking back to stock. 8)

At least people don't have to resort to jailbreaking to get apps that are unapproved by Steve Jobs!

Seriously though, I have an iPod Touch and getting an app from Cydia (or some other source) and installing it is not as easy as downloading a .cab file from anywhere and installing it on a Windows Mobile device.

While Apple iPhone may provide an excellent ecosystem out of the box, you cannot customize it as deep as Windows Mobile. Plus, so many Windows Mobile apps have more functionality compared to their equivalent on the iPhone. EX: Slingbox and Skype apps on Windows Mobile work over 3G, in addition to WiFi.

I like the NRG roms from XDA, but in my opinion the roms from RRE are the best, they're stable and look good graphically.

I'd flash, but many of my mission critical apps don't support 6.5 yet. Evidently you have to make cab files a different way as one of the dll files in 6.5 prevents the older style cab file from installing. :-( I am looking forward to the Touch Pro 2 on ATT.

PPCGeeks (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com) is the site you want to check out for updates for your Sprint Touch Pro. Specifically the CDMA Touch Pro Upgrades section of the forum (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=68), as most of the ROMs on XDA-Developers are for GSM devices. I am using a custom 6.5 ROM on my Sprint Touch Diamond and have had no problems. Not sure what dgduris is talking about, I have had no problem with cabs that worked on 6.1 and as far as I know there is no major difference between cabs on 6.1 and 6.5. Good luck, but be warned, once you start flashing custom ROMs it is hard to make it more than a week or so without flashing again to the latest version with newer and better features.

This is the best I found. Easy one page walks you through flashing to Mighty ROM5 WinMo 6.5

I flashed mine over the weekend. I honestly don't think it's that much of an improvement yet. Seems as reliable/unreliable as 6.1. The new interface is nice, but I'm back to Mobile Shell 3.

However, there is a significant improvement in the way the OS handles touch. It definitely feels more responsive to touch and not and add-on like in previous versions.

I've even loaded 6.5 on my HTC Titan. Much better. Even with only 64 MB(ouch I know, Im waiting for touch pro 2 or omnia II pro) of ram 6.5 works pretty well!

GrooveROM and Juicy ROM both have awesome 6.5 Roms. I've used them on my Touch Diamond, and I was very satisfied with their performance. I'm not sure if they have versions for the Fuze, but you can go to PPC Geeks and search for them.

From what I've seen, 6.5 Roms are working very well, and when the final version comes out this year it will be amazing.

One word of caution - if you are flashing a CDMA (Sprint, Verizon) Touch Pro, be absolutely certain that you do not flash a GSM ROM to it! It will brick your phone.

I'm enjoying 6.5 once you get the right roms it only takes a few minutes to update.

I updated my LG-Incite to the windows 6.5 ROM... works pretty well except for certain features. For eg it freezes when the accelerometer is turned on. So I keep the accelerometer off... and the alarms do not work when the phone is in standby mode. Other than that, it seems to be more responsive than the 6.1 factory installed version.. and i definitely like the new interface.

changing windows mobile can make the phone much nicer - depending on the phone you have will dictate whats available.

the touch pro is very popular, partly becuase 3 carriers have it - and theres a very active community at ppcgeeks.com.
right now the best roms for touch pro are going to be - juicy , mightyrom , and my new choice - energyrom.

anyone flashing - hard reset (or software 'clear storage' program you may have) after flashing. (let the device fully install and configure) It will really help prevent random odd stability issues.
