I am loving the google integration, and the notification system is far superior to that of the iPhones as well. I also really like the ability to run apps in the background, though I was doing it on the iPhone with Backgrounder and ProSwitcher, this implementation feels smoother. The google voice app is awesome!

What I miss is speed, screen size, ease of media syncing, and availability of endless apps. I know many of my complaints can be fixed, and some already have with newer Android phones like the droid and the nexus one. It's only been a few days since I made the switch but I can easily see becoming a full time convert to android. Just can't wait for the official 2.0/2.1 update for the hero.

What are some tricks or tips you guys have for making the switch easier? What are your favorite android apps?

Hey,

I have both the 3GS and the Hero but I got the Hero first... initially I was die hard Android but I became increasingly dissatisfied by the constant LAG and the fact that I could only use the apps and internet if I had at least 3 bars on HSDPA. I know this is a network problem but I couldn't change that and the only answer they had was to turn off 3G which kinda defeats the point, doesnt it?

Dont get me wrong, Im not a Hater... Im renowned for being a HTC lover at my current place of work (carphone warehouse) I'm just disillusioned.

I hope it works better for you tho... I hope the 2.0/1 comes out, its been anticipated for soooo long!

Yeah the lag is a little frustrating at times, if I run task killer often its not too bad. I just gave my wife the 3GS because her 3G wont makes calls anymore, so I still get to use iPhone apps on the 3G as long as im hooked to wifi.

Try doubletwist for media synching, Tmobile just picked them up as the official synching software for their Android phones. And as for apps, yes they are lacking entertainment wise, their really aren't many good games, but I love the ones they have, and they are getting much better now then they were three months ago. Try Space Physics that is one awesome game.
