Anyone have any suggestions on an external USB battery backup?
The Duracell Instant Power has gotten some good reviews, but I read that it only outputs 600mA (it doesn't say on their website). I'm presuming that it would still charge the phone, just more slowly. I'd even consider something bulkier like the CallPod fueltank, but I've read lots of reviews of people have issues with flaky adapters.

For $30, most T-Mobile stores have a rechargeable power pack/Pocket Charger (around 1500 mAh) which uses simple USB cables. You can use it for your phone, iPod, Nook, etc -- it works great.

Thanks for the recommendations. The Zagg's getting bashed in some of the forums linked off the comments, though. Another commenter suggested the Tekkeon series, and the Tekkeon MP1800 got pretty good reviews on Amazon so I placed an order for that one.

I'm using the Eneloop KBC-L2A 5000mAh to charge both my HTC hero and pocket WiFi (2 USB ports). Lots of power in a small package but it takes a while to charge.
