At about 11pm last night Gmail stopped syncing on my Nexus One. I've seen this happen before, but all it took was a reboot to get things going again, now rebooting doesn't solve the issue, and when I go into Sync Settings I get an error message that reads "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."

Anyone else experiencing issues? If it's a temporary problem with Google's backend I'll live, since I can still access Gmail in the browser, but if it's something with my phone I'd like to figure it out.

UPDATE: I'm going to try deleting all the Gmail data from my phone and see if that forces a resync.

UPDATE 2: Yep, that worked. I wish it didn't give that error message, I would have done this hours ago.

I will say I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 and have been having sync problems today... thats using Exchange protocol but maybe related?

I had it do that with my Calendar on my G1 the other day.
I force-synced it on that sync settings page and after that, all was good.
