Followed TechCrunch directions on using VirtualBox. See this link;
http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/11/19/guide-install-googl
e-chrome-os/
I used the Chromium version downloaded here on Gdgt. Works like a charm. A little lag even with 512 ram assigned. Must admit, I'm not sure what all the hype is about. It's a glorified web browser masking itself as an OS.
I do see the advantage using a netbook and cloud computing other then that, why waste your time.

So, have VirtualBox tie to the VMFusion build instead of the VirtualBox build. Makes no sense but it worked for me.

- MacO S Snow Leopard;
- VMWare Fusion 3.
IT'S WORKING!
What did I do to work?
1. Download the archive;
2. New Virtual Machine;
3. Use an existing..., and select the disk, like a copy and DONT CONVERT.
4. Operating System: Other; Version: Other;
5. Next, nex... and the Chrome OS start alone (DO NOT LOG IN);
6. SHUT DOWN the machine;
7. Go to settings and change to "bridged (autodetect)";
8. Run the Chrome OS and login.
This steps work for me and I hope that work for someone!

1) I Created a new VM
2) Selected Custom
3) Hardware Capability Workstation 6.5
4) I will install the operating system later
5) Linux
6) Other Linux 2.6.x kernel
7) Called it Google Chrome OS
8) Gave it two processors
9) 1024 MB ram
10) Selected bridge networking
11) SCSI Adapter: LSI Logic
12) Use Existing Virtual Disk
13) Browsed to the vmdk file
14) I opted to convert it to Workstation 6.5
15) Checked Power on this virtual machine after creation
16) Clicked Finish
17) First login attempt failed
18) Changed the VM Ware network adapter settings and checked Replicate physical network connection state
19) rebooted
20) Logged in just fine
21) Pressed CTRL+ALT+T to open a terminal window
22) typed in xdandr -s 1280x720, hit enter to change my screen resolution
23) typed exit
Everything is working good.
