It certainly looks sexy, but so far I haven't found any comments on how well it works/feels when used for gaming, and no buttons make me nervous. My questions are:

-Is there any chance of the multi-touch stuff interfering with me from pulling off a headshot 100% of the time?
-How will my hand feel after using it constantly for 3+ hours?

Even a small amount of lag or off-chance of the movement flaking out will affect a gamer more than someone poking around Gdgt.

The short answer is....NO. You can try, but you'd be better off using a cheap 20-30 dollar mouse. Also, why are you gaming on a Mac? The whole reason I got a Mac was because I was sorta over PC gaming, and just used my 360 and PS3 for that sort of thing.

IF there are ever drivers to make it completely work with PCs, and IF it worked well for gaming, I'd consider buying one if I found it on sale.

I have Windows installed on all my Macs specifically for gaming. I already have the powerful hardware, might as well make use of it. But I agree, the answer is no, this mouse will suck for gaming. Like the Mighty Mouse before it, having to lift the left finger off to activate the right click makes it nearly impossible to use with first-person-shooters.

The form factor is subjective. Some people will like it, some people won't. Personally, a less flat mouse would fit better in my hand.

I don't really think lag is an issue, but I'm not a hardcore FPS guy, so take that with a grain of salt.

With that in mind, this mouse is absolutely, 100% NOT for gaming. The touch implementation is completely ridiculous. The genius at Apple who decided a single finger scroll was the way to go needs to be canned. It is WAY too easy to scroll when you don't want to.

So a game like Mass Effect 2, which uses the scroll ball to switch between weapons, you'll constantly be switching inadvertently.

Also, in Mass Effect 2 and many other games, you use one button to zoom in on an enemy, and another to fire your weapon. Well with this beauty of a mouse, you don't have independent feedback from left and right mouse clicks. So you'll click the right mouse button to zoom in, and go to click the left button, but you won't feel a click at all. It's extremely disconcerting.

In short, skip this mouse. It's not just a problem for gaming, overall it's just a poor, poor product.

I agree. I actually don't mind the Magic Mouse for web browsing but single-finger scrolling makes it impractical for gaming. A mouse from the bargain bin would be a better choice.
