If you sync with address book on the mac or outlook/windows contacts on the pc; you are then able to export your contacts to whatever format you want to. As for a way of exporting directly from the iPhone I don't know...

Once you have them exported, I recommend creating a free gmail account if you dont already have one, you can actually set up gmail as a exchange account on the iPhone and have two way sync between the iPhone and gmail, for contacts and calendar. You can also use a service called NuevaSync, I have actually had better luck with it than I do with google's exchange setup. http://nuevasync.com Its free as well. Good luck

If you're on a mac, you can also sync them off to google pretty easily.

Or if you have google setup as an exchange account on your iPhone.

Not sure where you want to "export all contacts" to...if you could give more info, you'll probably get a better answer.

Check out soocial.com (note the two o's). It provides contact synchronization between various email accounts (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) and also has a free iPhone app.

thanks for the tip. i tried this one out and it worked pretty well. it made a couple of duplicates but i was looking to use it as a backup so that's not such a big deal.

It's relatively simple.

Try Air Contacts - available on iTunes. It sets up a mini-web server and then allows you to use wifi to connect and download to VCF file. Used it myself and works fine for downloading but not a sync solution if you want 2-way.

It is fairly simple on Mac OS X; when you plug in the phone and press Sync it compares the changes and a window comes up to give you the option to overwrite or merge and in which direction.

Try the demo or purchase the full version of PhoneView by eCamm (www.ecamm.com) for MAC. Amazing app and totally worthwhile.
