Well it sucks.

Definitely agree, the iPad name isn't wonderful. Apple Canvas would have been graceful, or event just Apple Tablet. But to start pricing at $499, I'm ready to get one.

I actually like the iPad name, I think that I'll be sure to be getting one, though I may not require the 3G access.

AT&T's network is f**ked!! I mean, er, moreso!!! (every 3G iPad jamming up AT&T's network and wifi hotspots.... yaaay!)

Ok, so far.....it's a great toy but no real good functionality and use.

if i need iWork, i'm not going to do it on this thing, i'm gunna use my laptop.

if i am a commuter, and i can buy a book for 14.99 on this store but the whole books hardcover physically in my hand is 19.95 i mean, that is not enough of a discount for me to use it as an ebook reader

I'm not seeing the market here. For the commuter who wants to read books, you can get a physical book for a couple bucks more and not have to worry about your $1000 toy stolen from you. for the average geek, it's a cool toy, but past that....nothing much.

it seems like you still better off having a laptop and an iPhone with you for everything.

maybe i am jaded here,. but this product, while cool and glitzy, is not making my OMG I NEED ONE alarm go off at all, i'm not seeing any use for this especially with the price plan rumored (had to get out my thoughts during the webcast, so maybe this will change)

The price helps it be a little easier to swallow but still.

I'll just wait for another company to copycat it (so i can network with my home set up) just like how they basically saw how much the Kindle was making and stole their concept and tried to mask it with their apps LMFAO!!!

No camera, no flash. In general its just a big ipod touch and if you want any more than the basic 16GB non 3G version it costs a lot.

I'm a little disappointed... you can't read an lcd screen in sunlight, so being cool and reading your ipad *cough* on a sunny day in the park ain't gonna fly. So you still need a Kindle.... hmmm right.

interesting, just not sure where i use this. I have an Imac, I have an iphone. I'm not seeing the killer app I guess. Will pick one up down the road. Better than a Kindle, just cost more.

Imo, they aim for maximum market share with the pricing.
Dissapointed with the features, such a big market in education and business. For me it is a bigger gadget.
