Mid 2009 MBP 256GB SSD 147.5 GB free before SN 167.1 GB free after SN.

That is nearly 20GB on my SSD, I think I made money on the Snow Leopard upgrade...

First gen Macbook Air recovered 10GB. Install took just under an hour running of the external DVD drive. So far everything running beautifully although my fan does seem to kick in a bit more often now.

Freed up 8GB, very welcome. Running smoothly and apps load much quicker, Mail particularly. Boot time is meh, but shut-down is blazing fast!

I had no problems installing on the 13" unibody macbook, reclaimed 17gb storage.

Installed on an older iMac no real issues with the installation, had a problem running Norton AV, had to uninstall it as even running rosetta didn't resolve the issue, infact i couldn't uninstall it until rosetta was uninstalled, this time saved 15gb.

Very happy with the performance increase, noticed a huge difference using time machine and a time capsule so much faster and more information available during the backup.

Shutdown is significantly increased, only a couple of seconds for each of the systems. Still have the MacBook Pro to do yet but very happy so far.

Overall very good impression. I gained around 10 GB of space. It runs noticeably quicker. I have a MacBook Air. Still runs hotter than hell though!

About 6.5 GB on a unibody MacBook Pro, but I had already used a utility to clean up some unnecessary files on 10.5 (mostly printer drivers and extra languages, I think) so my results may be lower than others. Still, not bad. Especially appreciated as I'm looking at switching to a solid state drive and keeping all media files on an external, so cutting back the space requirements could save some cash.

Has anyone else experienced SL taking a long time to delete files?

On an Early 2008 13" Macbook, I recovered 20GB of space (179 to 199 GB Free), and notice several speed improvements, including faster booting up and shutting down of the operating system, faster web browser, and overall snappier interface.

My copy is coming in the mail from Amazon pre-order (which actually dropped to $24.99!).

I want to just do a fresh install, wipe the drive and start over (on my Black Macbook 2008).

Is it possible to do so using this install DVD?

upgrade went smoothly. i had a few issues with some of my development environment stuff.

it took me a little while to figure out i had to install the optional development package on the dvd, then i had some issues with getting my django environment up and going again with the change to python 2.6.

i am still waiting for support for my networked canon mx700 printer. it is cool that i can use the scanner now from preview, but it would be nice if i could actually print to the printer over the network. usb printing seems to work.

I have not upgraded, so 0 GB. I would upgrade, but I bought Adobe Creative Suite CS3 ($2400) about a year ago and do not want to run into any compatibility issues. Yeah, I know that Photoshop CS3 has been "tested" but that's one out of about 12 different applications on that suite that I would hate to come to find out that they will not work properly on the new OS. Gonna wait to see reviews from those who are more willing to take risks with their CS3 products.

I have the CS3 Master Edition and it all seems fine - support for the commercial printers we use at work is also a lot more reliable and many of the minor printing bugs we used to have with Leopard have been fixed. All in all a good update.

On the positive side of things I am noticing quicker boot and shutdown times, better performance with multi-tasking, really enjoying the new quicktime (excellent), the improved Expose is also brilliant and I particularly like the way that minimised windows show up in the bottom section. All in all pretty good, however I do have a couple of little gripes. Suitcase Fusion 2 (my font management software of choice) just plain doesn't work. This will apparently be fixed within 30 days of launch so come on Extensis, tick tock! In addition to this I use some software called MacServerIP which allows the Macs on my corporate network to connect to a series of volumes on Windows 2003 cluster servers. This also no longer works with AFP and I have been forced to use SMB shares instead in order to access data. Normally this isn't a problem, however, any files with complicated or long file names, and any files over 2GB in size cannot be opened using SMB. This is a big problem for me, clearly Apple have changed something with the way that AFP works and this needs to be resolved in a future update as soon as possible. These aren't massive issues, but they are enough to dirty an otherwise painless upgrade. So come on Apple and Extensis, lets get to work!

I updated my 15" MBP (previous gen) and got 15B back... pretty impressed. The overall speed boost is awesome and I love how quickly my machine boots up and shuts down. I am slightly confused why certain apps load slow but it's probably because I only have 2gb of ram (just ordered a 4gb set). I love the new stacks features but have no use for the "new and improved" expose considering I live and die by Spaces. Does any else love and use Spaces daily?
